Our theme for the 2007-2008 school year is
ALIVE in the Spirit: Let your Light Shine
Each month we will focus on one of the fruits of the Spirit. These are special gifts of the Spirit that we are given to help build God’s Kingdom in our world.
We continue our theme for the year, Alive in the Spirit, Let Your Light Shine. We focus on self-control as the fruit of the Spirit for May. There are many areas of our lives in need of this quality. Practicing self-control in our speech can have a great impact. By thinking about and controlling what we say – refraining from that which is negative, and making the extra effort to see and say the positive – we help create a more positive environment for those around us and a more positive attitude for ourselves. Let us pray, as we celebrate the coming of the Spirit at Pentecost, that we are filled with all the fruits of the Spirit, especially self-control.
